Colfax Glass provides project planning support for homeowners, contractors, and architects working on new construction, major remodels, and additions. We review plans, recommend specific products from Milgard, JELD-WEN, VELUX, HMI, and Cardinal, and help size glass and frame systems to the project's structural and aesthetic requirements. This service is especially valuable for custom homes in Grass Valley, Nevada City, and Foresthill where elevations vary and building department requirements can differ by parcel.

For foothill projects, we focus on solar heat gain, thermal performance, and wildfire-zone compliance where applicable. For coastal projects in Brookings and Crescent City, we advise on wind load ratings, salt air durability, and moisture management at the glazing line. Consultation is available at no cost for projects where Colfax Glass will handle the installation. For advisory-only engagements, where another contractor will install, we offer consultation on a fee basis.
